Verduno DOC 'Basadone' - Castello di Verduno - 2018
Piedmont / Italy
Hand-harvested grapes from two south-east facing single vineyards
Fermented in stainless steel
Aged in stainless steel tank for 9 months and an extra few months in bottle
Pelaverga is rare variety only found in the Verduno commune of Barolo that Castello di Verduno saved from extinction in 1972 by designating and planting single vineyards.
Intense and delicate nose. Crisp and dry. This is bright and herbal with notes of cherry and strawberry, and finishes with a touch of spice
